With most linux software, the ALT key shifts to the upper half of the ANSI 8859-1 character set. The second of each pair of rows is the shifted characters. That is, each above block of four characters represents the four characters you get from one key, laid out as: Shift ALT+Shift plain ALT If these don't display correctly, then you are looking at them with something that doesn't handle the ISO 8859-1 character set properly. Of course, this can be useful when you want to see how the keyboard works with other character sets. Try changing your browser's default character set and reloading this page.
