This directory contains ABC transcriptions of all the tunes in
James Oswald's "Caledonian Pocket Companion",
which was published roughly around 1740-1780.
Each file contains one tune, and it may have several titles.
Oswald himself often provided multiple titles,
including different spellings of his title in the tune page and the indexes
at the top or bottom of the combined editions.
Other titles have been found at various online indexing sites,
especially
tunearch.org,
thesession.org,
and assorted Facebook groups.
