Subject: Monday 2017-5-1 Scottish dance @ Canadian-American Club Upstairs class (Jen Schoonover): I may do a slightly unusual (for our class) warmup. Jaunty marches would be good for first starting, and then I'd like to try a mixer waltz. After that we may take a few moments for light stretches, where something fairly calm though maybe not a waltz could be good? I might continue that basic trend through May, and put easy but slightly more structured dances (round-the room or ceilidh) after a general warm up but before a light stretch. *Singing Sands (B Priddey), a 32-bar strathspey with a Tourbillion and Diagonal 1/2 Rights and Lefts. *Stockholm Ceilidh (M Melin), a 40-bar jig. It is a recently-devised dance, and I attach tunes that are suggested for it. If these are not doable by Monday, I think any fairly buoyant jigs will do. *Talisker (Whisky Collection), a 32-bar reel that is not too deep and again I think "any good" will do.
