T: Royal Albert Country Dance S: RSCDS video Z: Malcolm Brown strathspey 2001-12-27 1 - 8 1st couple dance RH across with 2nd lady, turning inwards to come back with LH across - towards the end of the LH wheel (end of bar 7) the first lady has to let go and dance round the other 2 to get to top man's place at the end of bar 8, while the other 2 continue turning and then release hands and turn left about to face down - at then end of bar 8 all three are in top place facing down, nearer hands joined - 2nd man steps in on bar 8 and faces up 9 - 16 all dance down the middle for 4 (2nd man retiring, the other advancing), ladies dance forward and turn inwards to face up, taking nearer hands with 2nd man; all dance up the middle for 4 (1st man retiring), and first lady at the end dances forward, turning right about, (for a brief instant both couples have nearer hands joined with partners, both couples in the middle of the set, i.e. 2nd couple have to move into the middle as 1st lady dances up to meet her partner) 17 - 24 Ladies chain up and down the dance, on the last 2 bars 2s dance a normal 1/2 turn to finish in 2nd place ready for a poussette, while the 1s dance a 1/4 turn (if that - it is more a case of the man guiding his partner into place), to finish in top place ready for the poussette 25 - 32 Poussette Malcolm (& Helen) Brown York, U.K.
