Greetings all,

Here is another of the dances that David Le Brocque has written for we
banana benders (no, don't let's start that thread up again!). This one is a
strathspey.

La Belle Marguerite
For a beautiful friend...Marguerite Sloane
Square set...4 couples...4 x 40...strathspey

1-8
Men dance a reel of four on a line passing through 1st and 3rd mens'
positions (2nd man dancing to his right, passing 1st man by the right
shoulder; 4th man dancing to his right, passing 3rd man by the right
shoulder).

9-16
1st and 3rd couples cross right hand and set WHILE 2nd and 4th couples set
and cross right hand; repeat to original positions.

17-24
Ladies dance a reel of four on a line passing through 2nd and 4th ladies'
positions (1st lady dancing to her right, passing 4th lady by the rights
shoulder; 3rd lady dancing to her right, passing 2nd lady by the right
shoulder).

25-28
1st and 3rd couples with right hands joined advance one step and dance right
hands across 1 1/4 times to finish: 1st couple with backs to 2nd couple, 3rd
couple with backs to 4th couple.

29-32
1st and 3rd couples pull back right shoulders and dance out to 2nd and 3rd
positions WHILE 2nd and 4th couples cast one position clockwise to finish:
1st couple in 2nd couple's position; 2nd couple in 3rd couple's position;
3rd couple in 4th couple's position; 4th couple in 1st couple's position.

33-40
All dance eight hands around and back.

Repeat from new positions.

Music: no specific recommendation
