This is not "official", but Sophie is quite correct and there will be and
amendment in the next edition of the Scottish Country Dancer magazine.

This is how I want it done:

25-26
   3rd, 1st and 2nd couples, giving right hands, turn halfway round and remain in the middle facing partners.

27-28
   3rd, 1st and 2nd couples set to finish facing up with nearer hands joined.

As the 3 couples set the 3 ladies and the 3 men do join hands - that is the default when setting in lines!
