T: Muriel's Measure
C: Dance and music: Colin Hume (1995)
H: Colin wrote: Written for Muriel Langford, and first performed in the Great Hall at Dartington
H: on the weekend of 6th-8th January 1995, with music from Jim Coleman and Dennis Smith. Muriel's
H: husband Eric ran the Folk Dance events at Dartington in Devon and was an inspiration to all
H: those who knew him, and Muriel is one of my favourite women. Eric had booked me to call the
H: weekend, but sadly he died a couple of months earlier. I was very pleased that Muriel came
H: along and danced at the weekend despite her loss, and I worked hard on the tune to try and
H: get it just right.
