These tables show some Unicode chars that have caused display problems with some programs. Along with the codes, they are shown here in the HTML &x___; notation, as a bare UTF-8 char, and as a GIF. The GIF files mostly come from unicode.com, though some were done via screen capture.
Some programs don't display these combining characters alone, while others will work if these characters are "combined" with a space and/or nbsp char. These codes do have official glyphs, and it should be possible to show them alone in textbooks and dictionaries.
