Boston's Scandinavian Dance Group
|
Speledans is the Boston area's Scandinavian folk dance organization.
We put on public dances on a fairly regular schedule.
We also list a few other Scandinavian-related dance and music events here.
The schedule is often sparse during the summer (because so many of us are
off at Scandinavian dance events).
Here's a flier
for the Fall 2009 gammaldans series.
The usual schedule each month is:
- First Saturday evenings, 8-10:30 pm:
Scandinavian Dance (some teaching during early part of evening)
- Second Sunday afternoons, 2-5 pm:
Gammaldans (easy old-time Scandinavian dances, beginners welcome)
- Third Saturday evenings, 8-10:30 pm:
Scandinavian Dance (some teaching during early part of evening)

Musicians might be interested in checking out the phenomenon of
sharable, emailable music using the ABC notation. I have a
music directory / that is full of music in ABC notation;
the Scand subdirectory contains some Scandinavian
tunes that the Boston gang plays.
