With the surge of interest in the net, and the rush of new readers to rec.humor.funny, I felt it would be appropriate to do a new book with the very best 10% of the material from the first 5 years of rec.humor.funny. This is now out in bookstores as "The Internet Joke Book" from Peer-to-Peer publishing. If you've wondered why rec.humor.funny can't be quite as funny today as it used to be, it's because we try never to repeat jokes. Some of the best were done in the past and they are in this book. Right now this is the only way to get them, however in another month or so we will also put up a free full-text-search-engine "joke server" on the coming rec.humor.funny web page to let you look for specific jokes about specific topics. If you prefer the printed form, I've let a more professional publisher do some nice layout work and produce a nice trade paperback. If I do say so myself, this book is great. Aside from putting only the cream of the crop, we've also included a lot of classic comedy related to computers, math and science. This is truly the network nerd's jokebook, plus what is in my opinion the best overall comedy folklore to be found anywhere. [For those who own the first 4 Telejokebook series volumes, there is only a small amount of new material in this new book. If it is a success, we'll try to find time for a second volume.] More details on the book (and a picture) can be found at http://www.clari.net/inetjoke.html Also try ftp.clari.net:info/internet_jokebook, or mail to clari-info@clari.net and include "internet_jokebook" in your subject line.
